johnny jump ups (violas)

Psalm 37:3-5

Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

I Peter 5:7

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Psalm 40:4

Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust.

"Help me Lord to trust you like I should in every area and circumstance of my life"

The Faithfulness of God

1) Oh, look at the faithfulness of Christ, our Lord, How he saves and keeps the soul, Who trusts in his majesty and standeth on his word, Shall be safe while the billows roll.

cho) Oh, trust in God, Oh, trust in God, Oh, trust in God Oh, trust in the faithful God.

2) Oh, look at the universe that he has made; See the twinkling worlds on high; Alone on his fiat are these mighty planets stayed, Then we know he can never lie.

3) The word he hath spoken shall forever stand, It will never pass away; By it were the heavens made, the sea and all the land, It is surely the same today.

4) The Lord - he is faithful to bestow on us "Life and breath, yea, and all things," But chiefly his saving grace and pure righteousness, Oh, what peace, love, and joy it brings.

B.E. Warren

Until next time.... I hope each one has a wonderful day and weekend :-)

I'd Never Miss Heaven For The World

Since the weather has warmed I have noticed some pretty little flowers blooming. Here is a picture of the "johnny jump ups" that volunteer each year in my back yard. They are so pretty...... just spread everywhere. Isn't God good to let us enjoy these? I also took some pics of the crocuses and daffodils (may post some of them later). But for now.......
1) Beyond the borders of time there's a beautiful land. The Word of God its glory unfurled. And by the grace of God I someday will call it my home. I'd never miss heaven for the world.

Cho) I'd never miss seeing Jesus. I'd never miss seeing loved ones who've gone on before. I'd never trade forever for a few days down here. I'd never miss heaven for the world.

2) As for me and my house we will serve the Lord. Tho' things of earth may try to allure. For the smile of God means more than earths brief glittering day. I'd never miss heaven for the world.

I John 2:15-17
15) Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16) For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of this world.
17) And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever.

Romans 12 1-2
1) I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2) And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

I Peter 2:11
Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul.

Galatians 5:16 This I say then, walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

Galatians 5:24
And they that are Christ's have crucified (or put to death) the flesh with the affections and lusts.

Titus 2:11-12
11) For the grace of god that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men.
12) Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world.

John 15:18-19
18) If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.
19) If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
"I have left all the world to follow Jesus. Never backward to its follies will I turn. Oh, I'm on my upward way and it's brighter everyday. I have left all the world to follow Jesus"

I Know......

Thank God there are some things we can know. This Evening Light song has been on my mind lately and is very encouraging.

1) I know on whom my faith is fixed, I know in whom I trust. I know that Christ abides in me, and all His ways are just.

Cho) I know on whom my faith is fixed, His mercy has set me free. I know that He will safely keep and His love is sweet to me.

2) Let scoffers scoff, let scorners sneer, my heart is full of peace. They cannot take the joy I feel, nor make my hope to cease.

3) They cannot quench the fire of love that burns within my breast. Nor break that tender fellowship, that makes my life so blest.

4) They cannot bring again the sins the blood has washed away. Nor make my heart like stone once more, nor turn to night my day.

5) I know God is, I know His word unfailing meets each test. I calmly face a hostile world, with soul and mind at rest.

II Timothy 3:14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;

When Compared To God

Sometimes we face trials in our life that seem so enormous and impossible. But when we consider our Heavenly Father, how He cares for us and His power they seem to come "down in size". It is so easy in our human thinking to try to figure things out and wonder why God allows circumstances to arise in our life but always remember all things work together for good to them that love God. Sometimes He calms the storm and sometimes He calms us and lets the storm rage on. No matter which one He chooses, rest assured, He will bring you safely through. So today..... compare your "giants" to God and they won't seem so "giant" anymore:-)

When Compared To God

1) The Israelites were filled with fright as Goliath started towards them. Compared to them this giant stood so tall. But David said "My God has led me here to defeat him". So don't compare him to me, let's compare him to God.

Cho.) When compared to God, every thing's small. There's no giant that compares at all to the Holy One who sits upon His throne. So when you come to face a mountain so high, one glimpse of God brings it down to size. Satan will flee, you will gain victory when you compare it to God.

2) Oh, my friend, do you fear within as your giant marches closer? Do you know within your heart that you cannot win? Just have the faith of Davids day and shout "My God is bigger!" You'll find that there is nothing on earth that compares to Him.
