Tell What He's Done For You

1)Have you found rest and peace within, rolled far away your load of sin
Stepped from the old life to the new? Tell what the Lord has done for you.

Cho.) Oh, tell what he's done for you of His love so strong and true
Oh, tell what he's done, what he's done for you. Others may need Him too.

2)Have you a Friend whose wondrous grace, lights up with joy the darkest place,
Who to the end will still prove true? Tell what the Lord has done for you.

3)Have you been saved his love to show, who by your side each day doth go?
Looking to Him to help you thro'. Tell what the Lord has done for you.

4)Have you a joy that ne'er shall fail, E'en when you walk thro' death's dark vale
Some One whose power great things can do? Tell what the Lord has done for you.

I just want to take time to tell what God has done for me. I was born into a loving Christian family. We had the privilege of sitting under some great men of God that proclaimed truth without fear or favor of men but with a heart of love. My siblings and I were saved at a young age and were blessed with friends that were saved as well. I remember gathering around with the adults to pray and ask God for deliverance or healing of a family member or friend. As I've grown older, I gain strength and encouragement from these experiences to face problems of today. "He is just the same today". I thank God for salvation and His mercy unto me and just for the privilege of prayer..... to be able to call upon Him in time of trouble and sickness and not only during these times, but also just to thank Him and talk to Him. I don't want to go back on truths that I have been shown but hold them precious. When God shows us truth, it is dangerous to turn our back on it or lose our love for it.
II Thess. 2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
vs. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie.
vs.12 That they all might be damned who believe not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
God help us to walk in all the light that He has shone on our pathway, to stay sweet in our soul and keep our hearts and thoughts pure before Him.

"And though I've had my share of hard times.... by my side He's always stood. Through it all...... GOD'S BEEN GOOD"

It is so uplifting to read your posts. We need to be an encouragement to each other as the people of God. There is so much evil all around us as we go through our daily tasks. It is refreshing to come home from all of this and read the thoughts of others such as yourself.
From reading your comments, you have much to be thankful for. So many people today look back with regret for how they were brought up in truth. I was not brought up this way but I am so thankful that God showed mercy to me and loved me enough to not allow me to become entangled in falsehood.
I have thought so much on the scriptures you used in II Thess. What a dire warning to us all. How we need to thank God for the truth he has given us. We are living in an age now where some are saying there are no absolutes but I beg to differ. God has not changed His mind on any issue. With so much talk of change these days, I am glad we are serving a God who changes not.

As one of Gods children I want to be an encouragement to my fellow christians. There is so much dissapointment and hate in this world today.... God help us as His children to be what we need to be before a lost and dying world and to our brothers and sisters in Christ.

  3. Good thoughts. I don't believe anyone would want to think that they were given a strong delusion and believe a lie and be damned. But nevertheless, if it weren't happening this present time, the Bible wouldn't have mentioned it.

I too remember times of having prayer for healing and deliverance by the elders of the church as well as my own grandparents. I believed my grandmother could ask God for anything and she'd get it. I remember a time where as I was growing up, being taken with a serious illness and my grandma coming to lay her hand on my head and ask God to take it away from me. Within a few hours, it did. And likewise my husband grandmother was the same way. He had broke his arm once and his grandma came to have prayer for him to take the pain away, but when they had it x-rayed a second time, the break was fused already.

Those are just a couple of our memories, like you have said, God has been good to us MANY times and the good times outweigh the bad.

It sounds like you have witnessed Gods healing and delverance also. I don't know your age but I say personally, "God help me to be an example to the younger ones that I come in contact with." They need to see God work also in order to draw strength and encouragement for trials that they will face when they are older. As adults, it is our responsibility to give them this foundation.
